Requirements

The requirements of the pump are defined using goal-, design-, need-, transformation- and behavior-requirements and are associated with a certain component. In SysML, a similar approach is used for the specification of requirements.

In SysML, the requirements are defined in the requirement diagram and do not have restrictions on the syntax. The requirements can be listed as down below, or can be organized in a hierarchical structure using folders, called packages.

Need-requirements are informal requirements on what is desired and are only defined in the Requirement Diagram. All other requirements will also be visually mapped as diagram elements, such as connectors or actions. This will be explained in the next sections.
